One day,
We will cease to wonder what might be or what might have been. Our desires will press against one another, uninhibited, without repercussion. Midnight affections will lie upon soft emotions, touching compassion, to release serenity within our yearning embrace. Enduring flesh, no longer covered beneath the heft of circumstances, will reveal the unspoken veracity. Whispers of ecstasy will carry our souls towards the dawn.
One day, we will stop saying, “one day.”

Serene, sensuous , lustrous memory evoking & thought provoking!
I think the ending gave the poem an entirely different twist…very effective IMHO.
