Into the Clutter

When I think,
I drift deeply into
The clutter seeking
The empty space between
Emotion and reason.

Sometimes, I just sit there
Staring at the mess; wondering why
It always comes to this,
Why the collection of adoring moments
Can never stay organized.

Contemplating why those sweet little gains
Become messy expectations that slip
Into such disarray.

Here I am,
Forever drifting deeply,
Within the clutter.
